Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are embracing the early English fall following their move back to the U.K.
Meghan Markle , Prince Harry and their children arrived back in England on Aug. 26. PEOPLE confirmed that the family landed in Birmingham just one week after announcing the news that they were relocating to the U.K. for an extended period after spending six years living in California.
Meghan, 45, showed the first glimpse of the family's new chapter in Britain over the weekend, posting an Instagram video with emojis of the Union Jack flag and a red heart.
In the series of clips, Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lilibet are seen walking through the woods, fishing in a pond and splashing in puddles. The brother-sister duo even chase after a pack of animals, with Archie running while Lilibet rides on a bike with training wheels - and a baby doll secured behind her in a bike seat.
In the video, both Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are seen wearing waterproof rubber boots. "Wellies," as Brits use as shorthand for Wellington boots, are staples of a British wardrobe, as England is known for its frequent rain creating muddy paths outdoors.
Despite spending the past six years in southern California, known for its sunny weather, Archie is no stranger to a pair of wellies. In a snap shared on Ellen DeGeneres ' talk show in 2021, Archie sported boots featuring the cartoon character Peppa Pig while helping to feed the family's chickens .
Despite their move back to Britain, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are maintaining their Montecito, Calif., home, where they moved in 2020 after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as working royals. While the family's two dogs, Pula and Mia, made the move back to England with them , PEOPLE previously learned that the family's chickens will remain at the Montecito house and be cared for.
For Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the move back to their father's home country almost meant starting at a new school last week .
Settling the children "has been, and remains, their focus. Everything else will fall into place when the time is right," a source said.
"There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it's been really busy getting the kids settled," the source added. "Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being. They are happy to be back."
Archie was a baby when his parents left the U.K., and Lilibet was born in California in 2021.
A source close to Prince Harry previously told PEOPLE that returning to Britain was something he had been "thinking about for a while," while another source says the Duke of Sussex wants his children "to understand the world he grew up in and where their family comes from."
For Meghan, who grew up in California, part of the appeal is that her children can understand both of their parents' childhoods. "Meghan feels very fortunate that they're able to give Archie and Lilibet the opportunity to experience both worlds," a Montecito insider told PEOPLE.
