(CNN) - Security stopped an alleged trespasser on Kamala Harris' Malibu property on Friday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and her spokesperson, raising security concerns about the former vice president.

"Last night, security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff's property before the individual reached the home," said Eduardo Negrón, a spokesperson for Harris.

Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were not at the property, Negrón said.

Deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. Friday to a suspicious person call and made contact with private security on the property, said Julia Ann Tafoya, a spokesperson with the sheriff's department.

"The individual who was outside of the property upon our arrival was warned and advised by deputies to leave the premises and left voluntarily without incident," Tafoya said.
